灿亮丽鲷，本鱼分布非洲坦干伊喀湖。见于湖的北部（坦桑尼亚），沿着湖岸（金果马以北）。栖息于热带（24~26摄氏度；南纬4度~南纬6度）淡水湖泊中底层，深度10~30米。
