上海市闵行社会福利院是上海市闵行区民政局所属的一家社会福利事业单位。位于区政府所在地莘庄镇以北一公里，七莘路700号内。福利院占地15，642平方米，其建筑面积为5，400平方米，总投资1，200万元。主大楼五层，建筑面积4，350平方米，有200张床位，于1987年12月正式投入使用。

2020年9月24日，入选民政部办公厅、国家发展改革委办公厅发布的《公办养老机构改革优秀案例》名单。
Shanghai Minhang Welfare Institution was founded in December 1987. Located in north of Xinzhuang Town, the seat of Minhang District government, the welfare institution covers 15,642 square meters of land with 5,400 square meters of floorage, there are more than 200 beds for different kinds of residents.
The welfare institution is just like a small beautiful park. It has completed service facilities for the living, entertainment and medical treatment of the residents. The main building is divided into three divisions according to different physical conditions of the residents. Each division has a complete set of living facilities, such asbathroom, gymnasium, library, reading room, TV room, and recreation room. Each bedroom has its own toilet. Also each division is equipped with medical facilities: clinic, emergency room, laboratory, X-ray room, electrocardiogram room, physiotherapy room, to keep the health of the residents. The welfare institution mainly takes in three kinds of people who need to be helped: the older who live along, the disable and the orphan. Through hard work, Shanghai Minhang Welfare Institution has been honored as first class institution in Shanghai.
闵行区政府于2017年撤销“上海市闵行区社会福利院”区级福利院事业单位建制，同步成立闵行区养老机构管理中心，将原社会福利院两个院区分别改设为民非性质的闵行区老年福利院、北桥老年福利院。改制后的两家福利院理事会主要成员由闵行区养老机构管理中心有关负责同志担任，通过政府购买服务方式实行“委托管理运营”。闵行区综合考虑办院规模和区位特点，实施功能错位发展，区老年福利院引入社区卫生服务站，夯实医养结合特色；北桥老年福利院精心设计打造成为全市首家认知障碍照护专业机构。两家福利院均承担区级保基本养老机构职能，保证公办养老机构公益属性。
