A western style building. During the periods of Nationalist Government and Presidential Palace, Chairmen(Presidents) Chiang Kai-shek, Lin Sen and Li Zongren, and other leaders often took a short rest here before attending official ceremonies. There was a special flat in it, which was served as Chiang's temporary office. The negotiations between the Communists and the Nationalists were held here in 1946. In this house, the Acting President Li Zongren ever received the members of "the Shanghai Peace Delegation" on 27 February 1949, after they just returned from Beijing for the peace negotiations.
